Case Management
To assist clients to identify current issues that need to be addressed, especially emergent needs beyond the normal daily needs. These may include, but are not limited to, legal issues, Social Security, telephone calls for services needed, medical transportation, Board of Social Service needs etc. The goal of this program is to customize the level of care a participant needs to recover and enhance their quality of life using a holistic approach.
Drug Court Advocacy
The New Jersey Drug Courts aim to stop the cycle of abuse of alcohol/drugs and the related criminal activity that often occurs. Drug treatment professionals and the criminal justice system work together for the betterment of the participant and society. It is an organic arrangement between court staff, attorneys, probation officers, substance abuse evaluators and treatment professionals that helps promote recovery, while maintaining a delicate balance of authority, observation, assistance, and genuine encouragement. Unity Place staff meet with Drug Court staff on a weekly basis to share participant’s progress in treatment, and to advocate for participants, if needed.
Laboratory Services
There is a phlebotomist on staff to assist with blood work for medication monitoring, and collectors to complete urine drug screens.
Meals
Clients are provided with breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack during the program day. Breakfast and lunch are prepared daily on-site.
Psychiatric Services On-site
Using a Multidisciplinary team approach and collaboration, psychiatric services are provided by Physician Assistant, Melissa Lewis, under direction of Unity Place’s Medical Director Norman Chazin, MD. Services include comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, medication monitoring and management, injectable psychotropic medication administration, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and pharmacy delivery services.
Transportation Provided
Participants are provided transportation to and from program. Unity Place of Atlantic County’s transportation vehicles pick up in Atlantic County, Cumberland County, Salem County, and parts of Gloucester and Camden Counties that are within our pick up range.
